Mimi Kakushi (耳隠し)
Introduced in 1922 as one of the new yo-hatsu Western hairstyles the name translates directly as “covering ears”. This modern ‘bob’ popular among the fashionable young Moga (Modern Girls) marked a turning point in hair fashion as it was the first popular hairstyle with asymmetry.
